This is from a recent report in case you missed it. It brought a smile to my face … apparently Obama’s silky rhetoric isn’t enough to satisfy this group of Muslims.
The Times on Line is reporting that:
Indonesian students have taken to throwing shoes at pictures of President Obama.
The White House announced in early February that Mr. Obama and his family will visit Indonesia this month.
The trip has been keenly awaited by many in a country that has the world’s largest Muslim population. Many are hoping that it will herald the beginning of a new era in US-Indonesian relations.
Indonesian students, angry at what they claim as President Obama’s “war on Muslims”, attacked his image with shoes outside the Parliament in Jakarta yesterday.

The students carried banners branding Obama as an enemy of Islam and an imperialist in downtown Jakarta as well as in the provincial capitals Padang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.
They also threw shoes at large pictures of Obama’s head. An Iraqi journalist was sentenced to a year in prison for throwing his shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush during a news conference in Baghdad in 2008.
Well, Obama is certainly keeping his promise to change the way the world looks at U.S. Presidents! Hmmm … “they love me, they love me not!”
